COURTS FOR PLAYING PADDLE
Depending on whether outdoor or indoor padel clubs are planned and built,
there may be differences in the type of surfacing or wall characteristics of the courts.
However, for all padel courts there are FIP-approved specifications,
which must be complied with.
The playing area of a padel court is a rectangle 10 m wide and 20 m long, where the margin of error is 0.5%. This space is divided in half by a net for the two sides of the opponents, the participants in the game of padel.
The two halves of the padel court shall be completely symmetrical in terms of zone lines and court cover.
The court area between the net and the service lines shall be divided in half by a straight line perpendicular to the net, which shall be known as the centre service line.
All lines marking the playing area of the padel courts are 5 cm wide.
The minimum height for enclosed areas is 6 metres over the entire surface of the court. There can be no element that will be in this space.
The size of the padel net: 10 metres long by 0.88 metres high, which can be raised up to 0.92 metres at its ends.
The padel net is suspended by a metal cable with a maximum diameter of 0.01m. Two side posts, with a maximum height of 1.05 metres, on which the net is mounted.
The outer sides of the posts shall be at the same level as the playing area of the Padel court.
The net on the Padel court shall be fully stretched so that it occupies the entire space between the posts and the court surface, but it shall not be severely over-stretched.
Glass padel courts are characterised by the fact that their fencing is made entirely of glass.
This type of fencing allows full view of the game by spectators, and the bounce of the ball is better used by players, being a less rigid material.
The thickness of glass for courts is one of the important safety parameters for this type of constructions, its minimum thickness should be 10 mm to 12 mm.
In addition, the glass of a padel court must be tempered, because if broken, it turns into small splinters and prevents players from being injured.
